We help brands, production companies and broadcasters identify what they would like to achieve and what audiences they would like to reach. We work with you to build an understanding of what success looks like, and in what timeframes that would be achievable. For some brands this might be an increase in sales but for others it may be an awareness campaign.
We can identify where a brand and the messaging will best sit, such as linear TV, digital-first series, podcasts, audio or subscription video on demand (SVOD) platforms, aligned with current and upcoming commissioning briefs and audience taste.
We can originate ideas that embed brands naturally into the editorial and develop:
Programme concepts.
Series format structures.
Episode ideas.
Pitch decks.
Broadcaster facing treatments.
Brand facing proposition decks.
Sizzles and taster tapes.
This includes:
Introducing brands to broadcasters or SVODs.
Introducing brands to production companies or vice-versa.
Approaching brands with programme ideas that match broadcaster briefs.
Packaging a brand and production company together to pitch to broadcasters.
A successful AFP needs the right talent to ensure it is engaging, entertaining and credible. We can help identify suitable presenters or voiceover narrators that fit with the brand or align with the message. Where required we can also cast expert contributors.
Where appropriate, we can draw on our experience with XR technologies. These can be used in the production process, such as LED walls instead of location shoots, or as part of the storytelling, where a presenter enters a virtual reconstruction of an ancient ruin, for example. We can also explore ways to extend shows beyond their broadcast, such as giving viewers access to an augmented reality (AR) experience on their smartphones.Â
With our years of experience in working within complex editorial compliance frameworks we are able to advise and navigate brands through Ofcom rules, broadcaster compliance, editorial policy, impartiality, product placement rules, contributor consent, conflicts of interest and more.
We can help production companies identify and approach brands that fit with an existing programme idea or help shape ideas into attractive AFP propositions.
From academic settings such as The University of Huddersfield, Liverpool John Moores and the University of Leeds, to premium industry events such Sheffield DocFest and Edinburgh International Television Festival, we have devised and delivered workshops and full courses for people of all experience levels from entry level to expert, offered insight and opinion on industry expert panels and judged prestigious industry awards.
